White Roads

On the OS paper maps "ROADS AND PATHS" are "Not neccessarily rights of way".
It's a big disclaimer and White Roads is the biggest .... er... grey area. Adding Public Rights of Way information to the OS mapping should have cleared up which white roads have public access rights and which don't.

A white road IS a feature on the ground worthy of mapping attention. It can be private or public. Given that England and Wales are littered with Rights of Way information, there's a good chance it's private.

In short, finding a white road on your OS map isn't enough evidence to suggest you're allowed to ride it. You'll need some more supporting evidence.
