Promotion '78 Jolly Curry Night 10/10/2009

Venue: Nirvana, Hartshill and the unbelievably titled "Old House at Home" boozer before (and after).

You can go to www.nirvana-hartshill.co.uk and select what you want to eat before you even go to the restaurant. OR in Andy's case select what you want and forget what you selected.

31 year blog:
Whenever two or more of us get together there are certain names that always get a mention.

Roy Radley - "My name's Roy and I'm a c*nt. Don't call me Roy and don't call me a cu*t!"
Pete Constantine - Roy's more amiable colleague.
Ted Brain - the most popular instructor bar none.
Terry Pointon (NO RELATION!!!!) the least popular instructor bar none.
Brian Pointon - nothing to do with SPT but always gets a mention as Terry's brother.
Bill Cooke - who can forget the cry of "PACK-ARP!"
Fred what's-his-name
Phil Hilton - I once asked him why he could smoke in the bays and I couldn't? "Have you not heard of double standards Mr Pointon?" was his reply. Hmmmm!
Frank Bourne - setting fire to his pocket is always the first thing that comes to mind when his name is mentioned.
Pete Caine - is still a bit round a jolly and can be found running 17th edition courses at Newcastle College.

They don't train 'em like this any more!
The Largest Promotion '78 re-union Ever!
Who's who from left to right:
Phil I - will manage your Severn Trent water works and help deal with major contamination events. Phil is newly-wed to his second wife.
Tony P - is still waiting for your seven million pound drives order. Now it's for Schneider not Danfoss.
Rich P - still programming PLCs but not as many as last year.
The Richards twins. I can still tell the difference, can you?
Andy has landed in the comfy world of council job with a pension. He sorts out your asbestos removal. Andy recovered from a heart attack earlier this year.
Paul manages your facilities if you are a student at Keele.
Chris S - is helping to keep the fine tradition of British car making alive at Bentley. Zehr Gut!

Others who have contacted me this year:
Andy Blood - manning the Canadian outpost. The company he works for have reduced the numbers but Andy us still in demand.
Phil Cartwright - is still the master organ grinder. Job security doesn't get better than this.
Ian Meredith - still maintaining power stations as far as I know.
Eddie Rushton - still gainfully employed and playing drums with Cry Havoc. Well worth a listen but do take your earplugs; they get louder as they more deaf.
Kev Wooldridge - unable to work due to a condition called Frozen Shoulder. He describes himself as "skint and depressed" and may need a change of career when his body is fixed.

Rumours in need of confirmation:
Pete Hammersley is in America where he has opened an electrical wholesaler.
Dave Miller has emigrated.

Dave Cuthbert IS in Australia working on lifts but doesn't seem to use e-mail.
